Our Story

Some places don't just stay with you. They become you. The particular weight of salt air before a storm. The sound of a screen door. The way light hits the water at a certain hour and you think, without meaning to, I would give anything to be back there right now. That feeling is what Frequensea™ is built from.

I grew up with a father who was an Officer in the Navy, which means I grew up packing and unpacking, starting over, learning to find my footing in new places before the ground shifted again. Virginia Beach, Kittery, ME, the Connecticut shoreline — the coast was the one constant, the thing that made each new place feel like something familiar was still nearby.

But there were two places that were different. Two places that were never temporary. Every summer, without fail: two weeks on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and two weeks in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. My father's family had deep roots in the OBX — eventually building a house on the sound in Southern Shores that's still in the family today, still visited, still exactly itself.

My mother grew up summering "down the shore" in Stone Harbor — beach tags and 96th street, the Ocean City boardwalk and the particular ease of a summer town that knows exactly what it is.

Those two stretches of coastline are the most emotionally significant places in my life. They raised me in every way that matters. The collections grew directly out of those places — and all the other coastlines that shaped me along the way.

The Coastal Maps collection is the heart of it: real places, rendered with care, made for people who have a coast they return to in their minds whether they're there or not.

The Harbor Drift collection was created in honor of Stone Harbor. Quiet yacht club elegance that never needs to announce itself. A stretch of coast that runs on its own time, and for a season, so do you.

The Vintage Surf collection pulls from time spent in Wrightsville Beach and Virginia Beach, that warm, sun-faded, 80s and 90s surf shop energy with "Boys of Summer" faintly playing somewhere and the warmth of late August sun reminding you to hold on to that moment because it's almost over.

And then there's the Signature collection, which is rooted in something I've believed for as long as I can remember: that everything is connected. Energy moves through water, through air, through trees, through the people we love. We carry it. We exchange it. We have to protect it, tend to it, and share the good parts freely.

That belief is also where our name comes from. Frequency — the idea that everything vibrates, everything resonates, everything connects — with "sea" woven right into it. Frequensea™ Because for me, the sea has always been where that frequency is most felt. Stand at the edge of the ocean and you can feel it — something larger than yourself, something that was here before you and will be here long after, something that doesn't need explaining — it just is.

When someone connects with a Frequensea™ piece, I want them to feel something. Not just wear something — feel something. I want them to think of a coast they haven't seen in years. A summer that changed them. A person they loved who reminds them of salt and sunlight.

If any of this feels familiar to you, you already understand. Welcome.
