Frequently asked questions

What makes Frequensea™ different?

Every design starts with a real place or a feeling — somewhere that shaped someone, called them back, or never really let them go. Our founder Kimberly grew up moving up and down the East Coast with a Naval Officer father, and that restless coastal connection runs through everything we make. Some designs map specific shores. Others capture those moments that hit different: the smell of marsh grass coming over the bridge, highway signs for a town that means you're almost home, or that Don Henley song that brings back your first summer love. These aren't generic beach prints. They're pieces built for people who feel the pull of a place — or the ache of belonging to one

How do your tees fit?

Our tees are cut on a unisex fit — relaxed through the body without being boxy. Most customers stick with their normal size. If you prefer a roomier fit, size up one. If you're going for that oversized, extra-long look, size up two or three.

What fabric are the shirts printed on?

We print on the Bella+Canvas 3001 — a 100% Airlume combed and ring‑spun cotton blank known for its soft, lightweight hand‑feel. This is a premium, refined fit designed to drape naturally and feel broken‑in from day one. The smooth fabric shows off the line‑art detail in our maps, from clean prints to more weathered, vintage finishes.

If you like soft, breathable tees with a modern fit, you’ll feel right at home here; if you prefer thick, heavyweight, boxy shirts, these probably aren’t the style you’re looking for.

How long will it take to recieve my order?

Each piece is made to order just for you, so please allow 7–10 business days for printing and delivery. We don't keep a warehouse full of stock — yours is made when you order it, which means less waste and fresher inventory.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — free shipping on all orders $80+. A hoodie and a tee gets you there, or grab a few favorites and you're covered.

How are shirts printed?

We use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, done in the US. The ink bonds directly into the fabric, so the detail in our nautical maps stays crisp and the colors stay true — wash after wash.

Will the print fade over time?

With proper care, no. DTG prints are durable, but they last longest when washed inside out in cold water and tumble dried on low. Treat it right and it'll hold up for years.

What if there's a misprint or quality issue?

Misprints and quality issues are unacceptable to us. We hold our print partners to high standards, but if something doesn't meet yours, we'll send a replacement or issue a full refund — your choice. Reach out within 7 days of delivery with a photo and your order number at support@frequenseadesigns.com.

Can I exchange for a different size?

Because items are made to order, we can't offer exchanges for size or fit preference. However, if your order doesn't match our size chart or there's a quality issue with sizing, reach out within 7 days of delivery at support@frequenseadesigns.com with a photo and your order number, and we'll review it.

How do I care for my tee or hoodie?

Wash inside out in cold water, tumble dry on low, or hang to dry. Skip the iron directly on the print. Simple care keeps the design looking sharp for years.

Do you ship internationally?

Right now we ship within the US only. International shipping is on our roadmap — stay tuned.

How do I get in touch?

Drop us a line at support@frequenseadesigns.com. Kimberly reads every message personally and will get back to you as soon as she can.

Can I resell Frequensea products or offer them in my own shop?

Right now, Frequensea is strictly direct‑to‑customer. We’re not offering wholesale, reselling, or dropshipping, and we may cancel any orders placed for redistribution. We also don’t currently sell through physical stores or third‑party retailers, so if you ever see someone claiming to sell Frequensea as an authorized retailer, please let us know at support@frequenseadesigns.com so we can look into it.

If you love our products and want to share a piece of the coast with family and friends, the best way is to send them directly to our site.

Can I request a map of a specific location?

Our map locations are curated by Kimberly and released in small batches. Subscribe to our email list or follow us on Instagram and TikTok to be the first to know when new locations drop.

How are the coordinates chosen for the Coastal Map designs?

Each design maps an entire stretch of coastline. No single point on land could stand for the whole of it. So the coordinates sit just off the beach, in the water that every town along the shore looks out on. They mark the heart of the place, not one exact address. Look them up and you'll find them right where they belong, nestled just offshore from the coast you love.

Is this a good gift?

Absolutely — especially for anyone with a connection to a specific coast, a love for vintage surf culture, or that pull toward the water. Our tees run true to size, but when in doubt, size up.
